Be Careful of School you enroll your child -Ex-Lawmaker advises

Former Coordinator, Kaduna state own security outfit, "Operation Yaki",Col.Yakubu Yusuf Soja has enjoined parents to be careful of the kind of school they enroll their children.

He gave the warning at the 4th Annual Speech and Prize Giving Day of Bright Future Academy under Markazus Salafiyyah, held at the school premises in Tudun wada Zaria.

Yakubu Soja who was also a former member representing Zaria kewaye constituency said gone were the days when parents will just enrolled their children in any school without taking cognisant of the quality and standard of teachers and it's curriculum.

He stressed the importance of choosing a school that imparts quality education with sound moral upbringing for the bright future of our children.

"It is imperative to combine both western and Islamic education,hence the need to look carefully and select a school that meet up the two requirements.

"I therefore warned parents to desist from sending their children to such schools that pollutes traditional and religious background of your younger ones." he advised.

Soja also enjoined parents to monitor and identify the kind of friends their children are associating with to guard them against engaging in drug addiction, banditry and other forms of social vices.

He charged community to play vital role in checkmating the activities of youths in their midst in order to build a safe and egalitarian society devoid of fracas.

Yakubu Soja who appreciated the laudable achievement of the school, advised graduating students to be good ambassadors and reflect the knowledge they acquired in their future endeavors.

He expressed readiness to render his assistance any time the arises and donated the sum of fifty thousand naira(N50,000) cash to the continuous development of the school.

Earlier, the Director of the school, Mallam Musa Sahabi commended the efforts of Yakubu Soja in identifying with the institution.

He noted with delight the earlier contribution of the former lawmaker by donating 150 bags of cements during building process of the school.

Personalities that graced the occasion include, Representative of the Emir of Zazzau and District head of Waje,Sarkin Yaran Zazzau, Alhaji Abdulkadir Magaji, Member representing Zaria/kewaye constituency, Mohammed Dan Asabe Chokali, Council Chairmen of Zaria and sabon gari local governments and Reknown Islamic Scholars among others.

Highlight includes presentation of awards and certificates to some deserving individuals and students.
