GSS, Fadan Kaje Old students eulogies late Principal, Rev. Fr. John Haverty

Government Secondary School Fadan Kaje Old Student's Association (GOSSFAKOSA) in Zangon Kataf local government area of Kaduna State have showered eulogies on one of its renowned Principal, Rev. Fr. John Haverty who died July, 8, 2019.

Compass Times reports that the eulogies were contained in messages delivered by members of GOSSFAKOSA on Saturday during Requiem Mass in honor of the late Rev. Fr. Haverty held at the School premises in Fadan Kaje.

Bala James Tokan, President of GOSSFAKOSA in a tribute message, said the legacies of the late Clegy spoke volumes as he had installed great qualities and values which have moulded the old students to become men and women of unquestionable integrity.

"Late Rev. Fr. John Haverty had zero tolerance for discipline and high taste for success. He was principled, jovial and sociable," he said.

In a sermon delivered at the occasion by Rev. Fr. Philip Mugu said the legacy of late Fr. Haverty was a challenge to the next generation who was take leadership especially in the education sector through productive innovation that would impact positively on the lives of the people.

"Late Rev. Fr. Haverty gave himself wholeheartedly to transforming he lives of the students he tutored most of whom have become great men and women in their spheres influences," he said.

He, then, challenged well to do sons and daughters including old students of the school to contribute their quota in the overall development of their alma mata.

Mr Bartholomew Dodo, Principal of the school in a goodwill message, commended the turnout of the persons to the occasion he described as historic and urged especially the old students to see to the development of the standard of the school for future generation.

Also, Mr Nuhu Bature, the Agom Bajju expressed satisfaction over the achievements recorded over the years by the old students who he said had made tremendous sacrifices.

The Royal Father, then, challenged especially, students at the school to live up to the expectation of the sacrificeade by the pioneer students.

Compass Times reports that the late Rev. Fr. John Haverty served 13 years as Principal of the then St. Mary Secondary School now Government Secondary School, Fadan Kaje between, 1968-1981 before his death in July, 2019 aged 83.

The occasion which witnessed payers and song rendition, was also graced by an unprecedented turnout of people from all works of life including; old and still in school students, the traditional Institution and politicians.
