Wizkid Plans To Establish “ashawo” Business

Nigeria’s popular singer Ayodeji Balogun popularly known as Wizkid has declared his intention to venture into “ashawo” business.

Wizkid made the comment on Teni’s page while responding to a question on the kind of job they would want to do.

The young singer who appeared to be joking, commented saying “Ashawo business! pls bless us billionaire”.

Rape case: Group lauds Busola Dakolo for seeking redress in court

Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Gender Mobile Initiative (GMI) has commended Busola Dakolo, wife of Nigeria’s popular inspirational singer, Timi Dakolo, for her courage to seek redress in court over her rape case.

Executive Director of GMI, Ms Omowumi Ogunrotimi (Esq), gave the commendation on Tuesday in a statement made available to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

Lagos set to host largest motorsport

The organisers of the Tough Tourers Awards on Thursday said that Lagos City would witness the largest gathering of Nigerian Adventure Riders ever, adding that the residents were looking forward to the event with great excitement.

Three Nigerian films, Lionheart, King of Boys and Up North, are selected for showcase at the 2019 edition of ‘Nollywood in Hollywood’ slated to hold on March 22 and 23 in Hollywood California, USA.

8,000 struggle for mass wedding

No fewer than 8,000 prospective couples have joined the queue and undergoing screening to participate in Kano state-sponsored mass wedding.

The Kano State Hisbah Board embarked on the screening of the divorcees, widows and spinsters.

The Kano State Government had on Dec. 12, 2018 set up a 23-member committee on state-sponsored wedding of 3,000 widows, divorcees and spinsters in the state.

How Afro-rap connected me with my roots — Mz J4zzie

A UK-based rap artist, Mz J4zzie, has revealed how working on the song ‘Sho Ready’ an Afro-rap sound, connected her to her Nigerian roots.

MzJ4zzie, whose real name is Jasmine Ilori and born in the UK to Nigerian parents, recently collaborated with a Nigerian artist, Rapture, to produce Afro-rap.

She told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on telephone that she had never visited Nigeria since she was born.

The rapper said that the Nigerian music industry had become significant in helping Nigerians in the Diaspora have a feel of their Nigerian heritage.

Thousands of fans have taken to Twitter to list Wizkid’s achievements under the hash tag #WorldWizkidDay.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that #WorldWizkidDay is the number two trending topic on Twitter at the time of this report with fans eulogising the ‘Ojuelegba’ singer.

The trend started after videos of his interview with a US radio station went viral. The hosts of the show were starstruck and attempted to take photographs with Wizkid while the interview was ongoing.
